Billing and Usage

Understand quota consumption, remaining requests, and when to escalate billing questions.

6 min read

Use this guide to read billing usage data and plan limits correctly.

Purpose

This guide explains:

  • Plan tier and monthly request quota.
  • Billing window start/reset dates.
  • Retry limits by plan.
  • When to contact support.

Prerequisites and permissions

  • Signed-in account with access to Billing.

Step-by-step workflow

1. Open Billing

Billing shows:

  • Tier (BASIC, PRO, ULTIMATE, UNLIMITED)
  • Monthly usage and remaining requests
  • Usage window (usagePeriodStart -> nextReset)
  • Plan retry cap (maxRetries)

2. Interpret monthly usage

  • Limited plans show requests used, remaining, and percent.
  • Unlimited plans still show usage counts, but no hard request cap.

3. Interpret retry limits

Retry entitlement is plan-based:

  • Basic: 0
  • Pro: 3
  • Ultimate: 5
  • Unlimited: 5

Important: retries only happen when an endpoint is configured with deliveryRetries > 0.

4. Refresh after traffic spikes

Use Refresh usage to reload usage after high-volume periods.

5. Escalate billing/account questions

Use Support with category Billing and include timeframe + expected/observed counts.

Expected result and verification checks

  • You can identify quota headroom and reset timing.
  • You know the retry cap available to your endpoints.

Common issues and fixes

  • Usage looks stale: refresh and recheck after a short delay.
  • Remaining requests unexpected: verify period window and recent relay traffic.
  • Need commercial help: open support ticket with timestamps and endpoint IDs.
